In Iran, Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani is facing capital punishment. In 2010, the International community got mobilized to prevent the stoning of this 44-year-old mother convicted not only for adultery but also charged with complicity in the murder of her husband. Despite the suspension of the execution thanks to the international pressure, Iranian authorities might hang Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani in a few days; Iran being the second country, after China, in the number of executions.
